Boat Trips Along The
Bookings - 07879 420915
The Newark Crusader Boat moored up near Newark Castle with the team on board.
The Newark Cusader has been operating since the 1990's and has been a popular cruise boat for eldrly, disabled and disadvantaged people from all across the East Midlands. This 60ft boat has been recently updated and renovated to be ready for further trips along the River Trent.
The trips used to be provided by St John's Ambulance under the Water Wing boat scheme until recently but the charity and the boats future became uncertain. It has now been transferred to Newark Crusader CIO, a charity which has been set up by Mr James Wilkinson, of Newark Marina, and Mr John Coles, businessman and friend of Mr Wilkinson. The process was overseen by Langleys solicitors in Lincoln who assisted the new owners to establish the charity and keep the boat, skippered by Mr Les Reid on the water and able to provide this service. Langleys Solicitors provided all their legal help for free to help with this charity.
Mr Wilkinson "The Newark Crusader has provided a lot of pleasure over the years to many groups in the East Midlands and we wanted it to continue and decided to take it on"
The boat sails twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon and bookings can be made by contacting the skipper, Mr Les Reid on 07879 420915
Newark Crusader operates pre-booked trips for Care Homes, Special Needs Groups and Community Groups.
Please Note that unfortunately we are not able to accomodate individual passengers or members of the public.
